Police have discovered a cannabis cultivation with a potential estimated street value of £250,000 following a raid on a property in Newbridge.
Approximately 900 plants and associated growing equipment were discovered within the attic of the address.
The property was raided by officers from Lothian and Borders Police at around 5pm on Friday (March 12). Further inquiries are underway in order to identify those responsible.
A police spokesman said: 'This was an extensive and well-established cultivation that had the potential to yield a sizeable profit for those behind the operation.
'Inquiries are ongoing in order to establish their identity, and we would welcome any information that can assist our inquiries.
'In the meantime, we will continue in our efforts to uncover cannabis cultivations across the Force area, and we would encourage any members of the public who have any suspicions about possible cannabis cultivations in their community to contact police immediately.'
