The band is one of the world's oldest pipe bands and was known
for many years as the Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band. The band
currently competes in grade 1 at Major Championships run by the
Royal Scottish Pipe Band Society as well as local highland games
and Lothian and Borders branch contests.
The band has travelled extensively and has in the past taken
part in many high profile events and shows such as the Edinburgh
Military Tattoo, both at Edinburgh Castle and more recently in
Sydney Australia, as well as the Halifax International Tattoo, Nova
Scotia, Estes Park Tattoo, Colorado and the Danish Military Tattoo
in Herning, Denmark.
