Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSAs)

We are better trained and equipped than ever before to combat terrorism. Lothian and Borders Police – along with other UK forces – counters the threat of terrorism, but also reduces the opportunities available to terrorist organisations.

We have a team of dedicated, locally based Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSA). They are trained and tasked by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).

Counter Terrorism Security Advisers provide comprehensive support and advice on how to protect your business against the threat of terrorism. We provide business continuity advice and guidance on reducing the risk of terrorism through secure design.

CTSAs work closely with other police forces and partner agencies to provide a service to different sectors of the business community, including:

  • retail;
  • leisure;
  • finance;
  • utilities;
  • medical research;
  • educational institutes;
  • chemical science;
  • NHS trusts;
  • farming;
  • transport;
  • tourism; and
  • trade bodies.
